Evaluating Progression


Standing on a scale sucks! It can be extremely frustrating and it doesn’t really tell you how healthy you are. A salty meal, digestive health, hormonal changes, sleep and energy expenditures all play a contributing factor in your weight. Did you know your wait can fluctuate 5-7 pounds in a day? All that said, people rely too much on the scale and unfortunately, that number can dictate how you feel about yourself.

Here are some alternative health and fitness indicators which are more empowering to track your progress beyond the scale.


1. Measurements

Hips, thighs, chest, waist or biceps


2. Record your workouts

Today I hit a 1 min plank, last week was only 45 sec


3. Record your sleep

Download a sleep app


4. Check your BP

BP is largely affected by nutrition, exercise and stress and can be a great indicator for overall health


5. Progress photos

Same clothing, location and lighting


6. Evaluate how clothes feel

Try on some jeans.
